As part of Egypt’s efforts to localize industry and exchange technology in the water and wastewater sectors, Eng. Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, participated in IFAT Saudi Arabia 2026 in Riyadh, accompanied by a high-level delegation from the ministry.
The participation aims to strengthen regional and international cooperation in environmental sustainability and smart infrastructure, while supporting the transfer of modern expertise and technologies to the Egyptian market.
The Minister toured the exhibition’s pavilions, which showcase the latest global innovations in drinking water treatment, seawater desalination, solid waste management, recycling systems, and water supply and sanitation technologies, with a strong focus on digital transformation and smart facility monitoring.
The Egyptian delegation’s visit seeks to enhance engagement with major international companies to explore opportunities for localizing water and wastewater industries in Egypt, reducing project costs, supporting local manufacturing, attracting foreign investments, and reviewing successful global models for infrastructure development.
