The Egyptian government announced a new incentive package aimed at supporting the construction and operation of hotel facilities across the country. The initiative, approved by the Cabinet, allows investors to receive a financial benefit by offsetting land-use change fees when developing new hotels or converting existing buildings into hospitality projects.
The proposal aligns with national efforts to expand tourism capacity, increase room availability, and improve service levels. Projects from 50 to 100 hotel rooms can qualify for a benefit equivalent to 50% of the land-use change fee, while developments of more than 100 rooms may receive up to 300% worth of incentives, based on the project's value and location.
The decision comes as part of Egypt’s broader strategy to boost tourism revenues, encourage private sector involvement, and support urban development in key governorates. It also includes conditions ensuring compliance with approved building regulations and environmental standards.
