Eng. Hassan El-Khatib, Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, participated in a forum titled
“From Policy to Practice: Deepening Trade Integration between Egypt and Africa,” attended by government officials, business leaders, investors, and economic experts.
During the forum, the minister outlined Egypt’s strategy to enhance the investment and trade environment, expand exports to African markets, and strengthen overall economic competitiveness, emphasizing the government’s commitment to stable and transparent economic policies.
El-Khatib highlighted that recent economic reforms have contributed to reducing inflation, improving foreign reserves, increasing tax revenues without imposing additional burdens, and significantly shortening customs clearance time and costs.
He also pointed to Egypt’s upcoming phase of institutional development, which includes the full digital transformation of investment and government services through a unified digital platform designed to streamline company establishment, licensing, and payment procedures.
The forum featured extensive discussions on export competitiveness, logistics development, and innovative financing solutions aimed at supporting sustainable exports to African markets.
