Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly conducted an inspection tour in Qalyubia Governorate to monitor progress on the presidential initiative “Haya Karima” for developing rural villages, focusing on villages in Shibin El Qanater. He was accompanied by senior officials, including the Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and the Ministers of Health and Local Development, alongside the governorate leadership.
During the visit, Madbouly stressed the government’s commitment to closely track implementation, describing Haya Karima as a comprehensive development program aimed at upgrading living standards and public services in rural areas. He noted that the initiative is delivering a qualitative improvement across multiple service and development sectors, with emphasis on quickly completing the remaining projects in Phase 1 and advancing Phase 2.
For Qalyubia, the governor explained that projects are organized around key pillars: infrastructure upgrades, service improvement, and support for the most vulnerable families. In Shibin El Qanater specifically, the initiative serves around 600,000 residents across 36 villages and their satellites, with 703 projects implemented across sectors at an estimated cost of EGP 7.1 billion and an execution rate reported at 95.45%.
