Engineer Hassan El Khatib, Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in Cairo, in a meeting attended by representatives of leading Norwegian companies in renewable energy and members of international investment institutions.
The meeting reviewed plans by a major Norwegian firm to enhance and diversify its investments in the Egyptian market, particularly in solar energy, renewable-powered water desalination, and the establishment of clean energy-powered data centers.
The minister emphasized the government’s focus on attracting investments that combine economic viability with environmental sustainability, preparing an attractive investment climate, and providing the necessary legislative and regulatory frameworks to accelerate project implementation and ensure long-term sustainability.
The Norwegian ambassador also affirmed her country’s interest in strengthening economic and investment cooperation with Egypt and enhancing partnerships between Norwegian companies and the Egyptian government in priority sectors.
